Introduction


The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), was an examination organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. Introduced in the year 2002, this national level competitive test is for admission to various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, mainly 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). The examination was generally held on the last Sunday of April and results are announced in the last week of May or the first week of June. Candidates are ranked on an all-India basis and state basis. Thus, they have an All India Rank (AIR) and a State Rank (SR).

Eligibility

· Candidate must have passed 10+2 Grade or or an equivalent exam from a recognized board in India.


·  General category candidates should have 50% aggregate marks.


·  SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidates should have 40% aggregate marks.


·  Those appearing for the qualifying examination in the same year may also appear in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). 


·  The upper age limit to be eligible for the exam is 25 years. However, there is relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST/ PH candidates. 


·  A student can attempt the entrance examination consecutively for a maximum of three years.

Examination

The candidate can select the examination centre based upon their location preferences. The examinations pattern is of multi choice questions. There are 4 papers which are to be completed by the applicant in this entrance exam. The Paper I consist of Physics & Chemistry, Paper II consist of Mathematics, Paper III consist of Biology, Paper IV  (Part I) consist of Aptitude, Paper IV (Part II) consist of drawing test. The number of questions allocated to each paper is given below along with marks


Paper I – 150 questions – 450 marks
Paper I – 75 questions – 225 marks
Paper III – 75 questions – 225 marks
Paper IV (Part I) – 50 questions – 150 marks
Paper IV (Part II) – 25 questions – 75 marks

Application Procedure

· Applications can be submitted online by visiting their official website: 

· Aspirants can make the payment through Demand Draft or Credit Card

Payment through Demand Draft:
Step 1: If you want to submit the fee by Demand Draft, get ready before filling application form
Step 2: Logon to the AIEEE website, fill the application form, note down your registration number which you have received by system that is required for making the payment of fee.
Step 3: Fill all necessary details in the Demand Draft
Step 4: Take a printout of Confirmation page and complete as per the instruction mention on the page.

Payment through Credit Card
Step 1: Keep all the details of Credit Card (VISA/Master Card) ready with you.
Step 2: Candidates should logon to the AIEEE website, fill the application form, note down your registration number which would be generated by system that is needed for making the payment of registration fee for AIEEE 2012.
Step 3: Make the payment through Credit Card and note down the payment receipt number, once you successfully complete the transaction.
Step 4: Take a printout of Confirmation Page and complete as per the instruction given on the page.
·  Paste your two recent photographs, sing in the specified box and send this confirmation page along with Demand Draft to " The Assistant Secretary (AIEEE Unit), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi 110 092"
·  All the candidates are expected to send the application forms on or before the last date of registration. Applications received after last date will not be accepted.
·  The photograph of the candidate should be attested by the Principal/Head of the Institution or Gazetted Officer in such a way that part of the signature is on the photograph and remaining part of the signature is on the application form.
·  Candidates not complying with these instructions or with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected.
