Introduction

National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) Joint Entrance Examination is taken by aspirants aiming for admissions to various Hospitality and Hotel Administration programs offered at the institutes affiliated to the council.

Eligibility

  • A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects
  • Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination
  • Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2013 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by September 30, 2013
  • Maximum age of the candidates as on July 1, 2013 should be 25 years for SC/ST categories and 22 for others

Examination

  • NCHMCT JEE 2014 shall have a single paper comprising questions from five different subjects/sections.
  • The NCHMCT JEE 2014 question appear shall carry total marks of 200.
  • The candidates taking the NCHMCT JEE 2014 Exam shall be given sufficiently 3 hours time to complete the paper.

Medium: NCHMCT JEE 2014 paper shall be provided bilingually, i.e. in English and Hindi, except for the paper of English Language.


Marking Scheme: NCHMCT JEE 2014 follows the marking scheme as under:
  • Each question under the different subject/section except Aptitude for Service Sector shall be awarded one mark for the correct answer while each incorrect/wrong response shall lead to deduction of 0.25 marks.
  • The questions asked under Aptitude for Service Sector shall carry the graded marks. The most apt answer shall be awarded 1 mark, followed by 0.75, 0.5, 0.25 marks respectively. However there is no negative marking for Aptitude for Service Sector section.

Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for the exam online.

Candidates applying for the exam from general category need to shell out Rs. 800 for the application form whereas an amount of Rs. 400 needs to be paid by SC/ST/PH category candidates. This application can be paid by candidates through Credit/Debit card or even through a DD (Demand Draft). The DD should be drawn in favor of 'NCHMCT' which is payable at Noida/ NewDelhi.
