Introduction

The admission to Under Graduate Medical courses (MBBS and BDS) in the Medical / Dental colleges / institutions in the state for the academic year 2014-15 will be on the basis of the Kerala Engineering and Medical Entrance Examination 2014 (KEAM 2014) conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The students who wish to get admission for MBBS /BDS courses in Kerala shall have to participate in KEAM 2014 and obtain minimum eligibility marks as prescribed, for getting admission to MBBS /BDS courses. The detailed notification regarding the submission of KEAM applications will be issued in due course.

Eligibility

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible for admissions. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are also treated at par with the Indian citizens.
  • The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent examinations.
  • Moreover the candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology individually and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in aggregate.
  • In addition to the above, candidates taking KEAM 2014 Exam should qualify the KEAM 2014 MBBS BDS entrance exam with 50% marks in it.
  • Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on December 31, 2014. There is no upper age limit for KEAM 2014.

Examination

  • For medical each Paper will have total of 120 questions which have to be answered in 150 minutes (two and a half hours).
  • For each correct response in the Medical Examinations, the candidates will be awarded 4 marks.
  • While for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • More than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as incorrect response and 1 mark will be deducted from total score.
  • However leaving a question without any response doesn't carry any marks and there is no negative marking for unattended question.
  •  Examination Paper 1 will be Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 will be Biology.

Application Procedure

Candidates must have to register in official website of KEAM 2014.

Candidates have to create login-id and password and keep the login details till the end of the examination.

Fill the application form online. Before filling the application form, please read the instructions properly.

While filling the form, candidates must have scanned / digital photograph of the candidate.

Payment of application fee through security card or DD. Candidates should take the printout of the filled application form. The completed application form, along with all supporting documents should reach the below address.
