Introduction

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. All India Management Association (AIMA) is the responsible body for MAT EXAM. More than 600 B-Schools accept MAT exam scores.

MAT Exam takes place four times a year; February, May, September, and December.  MAT Exam dates and other schedules are announced three months before the exam. MAT Exam is an MCQ type Test where candidates can choose to take the exam in either of the two modes – paper-based or computer-based.

Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600 B-Schools across India.

Programmes

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and equivalent MBA programs offered by participating MBA institutes.

All B schools that participate in MAT are either AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved

Eligibility

MAT 2017 eligibility criteria for the candidates are given below:

1) The candidates must have completed graduation or appearing in the final year.

2.) The candidates must check the percentage need, in each institute the percentage requirement is different from one another.

The MAT exam score percentage is differing from the person's category.

Scheduled Caste(SC) 15%
Schedule Tribe(ST) 7.50%
Other Backward Classes (OBC) 27.00%
Differently Abled (DA) 3.00%

 

MAT 2016 Age eligibility

  • The age limit of the MAT applicants should be 21 years.
  • The MAT exam will consist of the 200 objective type questions. Each question carries one mark.
  • The total time of the examination will be 150 minutes. the MAT syllabus includes the following subjects such as English grammar and comprehension, mathematical ability, logical reasoning questions, data analysis and data sufficiency, and India and global environment.

Examination

According to the admission or the selection procedure, the B-schools will shortlist the candidates after the result is declared based on the cutoff scores or percentiles.The MAT 2017 Selection Procedure or the admission criteria will vary from B-School to B-School.

The common procedure which is followed by the majority of the B-schools includes Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and or Written Ability Test (WAT). The final selection is based on the overall score of the candidate that is the score of MAT along with the scores of GD, PI, and or WAT

Or
 
Obtain OMR Registration Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from AIMA, New Delhi.

Acknowledgment of Registration:

All Forms received at AIMA are scanned / validated within 5 days and the Form Numbers of such received forms will be available on website link::http://apps.aima.in/mat_reciept.aspx.Further, your form is scrutinized and if found in order; it is provisionally registered.
 
MAT Registration Form received later than the due date is liable to be rejected. Neither any correspondence in this regard will be entertained nor will the fee to be refunded.
