Introduction

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is a premier medical institute of the country acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services. It is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognised by the Medical Council of India. The Armed Forces Medical College was formed at Pune on 01 May 1948 by the amalgamation of Army Medical Training Centre, the Army School of Hygiene, the Central Military Pathology Laboratory, the School of Blood Transfusion and Army School of Radiology

Training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students

Eligibility

Candidate must be an Indian national or his/her nationality should be Indian.



Candidate must be unmarried and marriage of the candidate during the course is prohibited.

Candidate must have attained the age of 17 years on 31
st December 2014 but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations).

Medical fitness of the candidate will be examined as per the prescribed standards of Government of India, Ministry of Defense.

Candidate must have a subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in intermediate.

Candidate must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examination.

Aspirant must not secure less than 60% of aggregate marks in the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% in each of the science subject.

Candidates appearing in the plus two examination in the ongoing session are also eligible to appear for the exam.

Examination


 AFMC has openings for admissions to MBBS course offered to the applicants. Those applicants who are eligible may apply for this exam.

 The written examination consists of 200 multiple choice questions and duration of the examination is 120 minute.

AFMC entrance exam syllabus 2014 is totally based on 11th and 12th class.

Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical instituteof India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. Thecollege provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical andnursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.

The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 by an act ofparliament of India on the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by theamalgamation of various defence medical organizations. The "GraduateWing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainableand steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces. Theinstitute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of HealthSciences and is recognized by the MCI for conducting undergraduate and variouspost graduate medical courses.
