Vellore Institute of Technology better known as VIT is a premier Institute of Technology in India that offers 17 undergraduate programs and 28 postgraduate programmes. The VIT campus is spread over 250 acres of land on the Ranipet- Katpadi road at Vellore that is situated between two important cities- Chennai and Bangalore. VIT is all set to conduct the VITEE  as the notification for the engineering entrance exam is already out and it is time for the aspirants to hit the book.

· Candidates must have completed 10+2 from a recognized Board or Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board or High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma or Advanced (A) level General Certificate Education (GCE) examination

· Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/ Biology (50% for SC/ST and candidates from Northeast and Jammu Kashmir)

·  Candidates must be born on or after 1 July 1992 to be eligible.


·The total number of questions will be 160 divided into four sections with 40 questions each for one mark.

·  The duration of VITEEE 2014 is 2.5 hours.

·  Candidates may note that there is no negative marking for VITEEE 2014.

Application Procedure

Online: Candidates can apply online, submit the application, take a printout and send the confirmation page to the university.

Offline: Applications are available at select post offices /candidates can write to the Universtiy with an application request letter/ candidates can purchase the application at the university counter.

VITEEE 2014 Application Fees for VITEEE 2014: Rs.925 for applying online and Rs.975 for applying offline.

VITEEE 2014 Application fee can be paid via: 

·  Online: through credit/debit card

·  Offline: through DD drawn in favour of VIT University’ payable at Vellore to the address of Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore


VIT University, established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resources Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering College in 2001. The University is headed by its founder and Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government. In recognition of his service to India in offering world class education, he was conferred an honorary doctorate by the West Virginia University, USA. Sankar Viswanathan, Sekar Viswanathan and G.V. Selvam are the Vice-Presidents; Dr. V. Raju is the Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Anand A. Samuel and Dr. S. Narayanan are the Pro-Vice-Chancellors.
