National Council for Hotel Management &Catering Technology (NCHMCT), New Delhi was established in 1982 by the Ministryof Tourism for coordinated growth and development of hospitality managementeducation in the country. The institute is an autonomous body under Ministry ofTourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics forhospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses ofstudies that are imparted at the existing 24 Institutes of Hotel Management and7 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. AllInstitutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by theCouncil for the twelve different professional programmes. Quality of educationand training provided by the Institutes helps student to emerge asprofessionally qualified personnel for hospitality and other allied servicesectors. The Council has till date trained more than 30,000 HospitalityManagers, Executives and other operational personnel. Its alumni occupy keypositions in hospitality industry and in academic institutions in India andabroad. The Council regulates academics in the field of hospitality Educationand Training that is  imparted at thetwenty four Government sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management and seven FoodCraft Institutes that function in different parts of the country.

10. HOUSEKEEPING LABORATORIES
  There are two housekeeping laboratories in the Institute. One Laboratory is for learning room-cleaning procedures and the other is for preparation of area cleaning activities, theme decorations, stain removal demonstrations etc.
11. LAUNDRY  
 
Institute has a well-equipped & functional laundry that not only acts a training laboratory but is also used for washing of restaurant linen, staff uniforms etc.
12. COMPUTER LABORATORY  
 
Institute has a computer laboratory with LAN network of 60 state of the art computers.
13. FRONT OFFICE LABORATORY  
 
Front Office Laboratory caters to students of Post Graduate Diploma in Accommodation Operation & Management, 1st and 2nd years of Degree programme. It is also having LAN network of 30 state of the art computers.
14. FOOD SCIENCE LABORATORY  
 
Institute has a well-equipped Food Science laboratory primarily for M.Sc. (DFSM).
15. MICRO BIOLOGY LABORATORY  
 
To cater M. Sc. (DFSM) students with the latest equipment.
