Keshav Mahavidyalaya is a constituent college of University of Delhi

Established in the year 1994 and is wholly funded by Government of NCT, Delhi. It started functioning from a school building in Keshavpuram with just two courses to begin with namely B.Com (H) and B.Sc. (Gen) with Computer Science. Gradually course like B.Sc. (H) Electronics, B.Sc.(Gen) Mathematical Science, PGDCA and B.Sc.(H) Computer Science were added. 

The new campus of the college at Pitampura (H-4-5 Zone near Sainik Vihar) started functioning from academic session 2006-07and courses like B.Sc.(H) Mathematics, B.Sc.(H) Physics, B.A. (H) Psychology and Bachelor of Business studies were added.

Under the able guidance of its founder principal Dr K.P. Chinda and present principal, Dr. Madhu Pruthi, the college, in a very short span of time, has been able to carve out a niche for itself by delivering good results in Delhi University exams. To make students understand the intricacies of what we call complex technology, the college has always made it sure to use latest gadgets and technology. In the current rapidly changing times in terms of expansive information and new emerging technologies, the student now a day's aspire for higher goals. Keeping pace with demands of these times of flux, the college lays emphasis on the enhancement of these qualities by continuously striving towards academic excellence and overall holistic development of an individual. 

The College has impressive infrastructure, e- enabled lecture halls and air conditioned- well equipped laboratories. An air -conditioned, Seminar hall with LCD Projector, interactive board and Audio Conferencing Public Address System is used to host a variety of events throughout the year.

Apart from three Computer laboratories equipped with LANs running on Windows NT/2000 Server and Unix Server, the college also has OHP as well as LCD. We feel proud to announce that the Computer Laboratories are completely networked on a Wi-Fi LAN. 

The College maintains a well-stocked double storey, spacious library comprising of two large reading rooms and a separate magazine section. The library has more than 15000 books and a rich collection of text and reference materials and encyclopedias of various fields. Large number of dailies, weeklies & periodicals are being subscribed by the library on regular basis. The library also provides reprographic services i.e. Photocopier Service to the users.

The college believes that for the all round development of students, it is necessary to involve them in some extracurricular activities. In this direction, the college organizes fresher’s welcome, annual cultural festival, and computer festival, annual day and annual farewell every year. The college also has a Computer Society (BLITZ) and Rotaract club. The college organizes annual blood donation camps with Rotaract club.

The College has a state of the art auditorium with a seating capacity of 800 persons. It Is Fully air-conditioned, built with best acoustics, high end light and sound facilities. It has been a centre of all the cultural and academic activities of the college where all the staff and students together enjoy and share their views. It also fosters in the college students by giving them a platform to come up and show their talents.

The college provides ample facilities and infrastructure for participation in sports both indoor and outdoor. A special room for playing table tennis, carrom and chess has been set up. The campus also has badminton, lawn tennis, basketball courts and huge ground for playing cricket, football etc.

The college boasts of a spacious and comfortable Girls' Hostel with a capacity of 80 Students. This  is going to be functional soon.

Transport Facility:

The college is well connected by various means of public transport. The Metro Feeder bus connects the college to Netaji Subhash Place Metro Station (Via Britannia) and Pitam Pura Metro Station.
Identity Card:

After admission, every student is required to contact the office for his/her Identity Card.
The student is required to carry the Identity card to the college everyday and produce it on demand. The Identity Card must be surrendered at the time of leaving this college.
Bus Pass:

The college has arrangement for the verification of forms for its students for the DTC bus passes.

Library Cards:

Students are given four (04) library tickets (Comp. Science (H) 05) which can be used at the same time to facilitate readings. For books not returned on time, an overdue charge of 50 paisa per day per volume is levied for the first week and Rs.1/- per day for the second week, Rs.2/- per day for the third week and Rs.5/- per day from the next week onwards. An overdue charges of Rs.2/- per day is levied if a book issued from the reserve section is kept beyond the due date.

• Students have to show College I-Card at the entry gate of library and while issuing of library books at the counter.
• Students cannot carry any bags into the library.
• In case of transfer of library tickets the ticket of the original card holder will be cancelled.
• In case tearing of pages from any book is reported, strict disciplinary action will be taken.
• If a Reader/member loses his/her library ticket, a duplicate library ticket will be issued to him/her only in the    next academic year to avoid any kind of misuse of the library tickets.
• The charges for duplicate library tickets (each) will be Rs.50/-
• Books on loan can be called at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
• The Library Membership form is to be submitted after admission is secured.

Rail/Air Concession:

The facilities for rail and air concession are available to the students at the college office for visiting their parents at their home town (to and fro) during vacations only. For this purpose, the permanent address declared in the admission form is considered. Any change in permanent address will be made only if the information is given to the office directly by the
Short Term / Add-on Courses:

The college offers short term certificate courses in French and German language. Students wishing to pursue these language courses may contact the office for the forms available from 13th to 27th July 2012. The classes for these language courses are expected to begin from 1st August 2012.
