Pediatrics
Pediatrics is a division of medical science, which deals with the health care of newborns, children and adolescents.  Pediatrics mainly focus on children up to 12 years of age. He advises parents on how to take care of their children, administers their immunization and treats illness which mainly affects children.The demand for talented and proficient paediatricians is growing day by day.  Government and  private hospitals are always on the look out for skilled  pediatricians.

Graduates in paediatric surgery must develop extraordinary skills for operating the newborns or infants with small surgical instruments. A pediatrician is quite well trained to diagnose a wide range of injuries and diseases that impact children.  They are skilled to treat majority of the cases which they come across, however they may also refer patients to sub-specialists with the pediatrics specialization.A graduate who is skilled in this field is known as a pediatrician.

Basic Eligibility

UG:
For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (Std.12th) examination from a recognized board. The duration for the bachelor degree course is 3 years and for diploma course is 2 years.

PG:
The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master’s degree is holding a graduation degree in any stream. The duration for master's degree  post graduate diploma course is 2 years.

Remuneration: -

The remuneration in the area of pediatrics depends upon the standard of the organization, particularly at the starting level.  In the govt sector, per month pay package is around Rs. 50,000 for beginners level practitioners, Rs. 60,000 for middle-level practitioners and Rs. One lakh for senior paediatricians. In private sector, the equivalent packages are around Rs. 35,000 to 40,000, Rs.60,000, Rs 1 lakh to 5 lakhs. In private practice, a doctor’s earnings depend upon his reputation.

A graduate in pediatricians can also start their own specialist children's centre and can make more money. At the Senior level pediatricians get the income packages around Rs. 20,00000 – Rs. 35,00000 every year.  In United States for common pediatrician the standard income is about $135,000 every year and depending upon their experience and qualifications, most of pediatricians in the United States get around $70,000 and $400,000 every year.
